25,000 Miles On A Bicycle Tire

In 2001 and 2002, Kik Tire in Oceanside California produced a rare elastomer bicycle tire. Instead of using a urethane foam, a higher rebounding elastomer was used resulting in high wear properties. Only 2000 of these tires were made and Daniel got a pair. About four years after getting his tires, he reached out and wanted to know if the tires were still any good. He had over 24,000 miles on them. The company that made tires went out of business. In 2014, a small run of tires using this material were made again by Marvel Compound Tires.
